WRITING THAT MEANS BUSINESS

“The aim of marketing is to make selling superfluous.” – Peter Drucker

An award-winning writer with more than 20 years’ experience writing for businesses and organizations of all sizes, I can provide quality writing for nearly any market — from one-line campaign themes to thick sales training manuals. Copy that holds the reader’s interest and gets results. On time. And on budget.

Areas of Expertise:

  • Marketing Consulting
  • Business Plans
  • Web Content (SEO-SEM copywriting)
  • Ad Copy
  • Press Releases
  • Ghostwriting
  • TV and Radio Spots
  • Grant Proposals
  • Backgrounders
  • Scriptwriting
  • Case Histories
  • Brochures
  • Annual Reports

I have written for magazines and websites and Composed audience-focused video and A-V scripts, TV spots, case histories, newsletters, brochures, ad copy, and press releases.

I worked as ghostwriter and editor on Lightspeed Business (John Wiley and Sons, 2001) and Getting It Right the First Time (Greenwood Press, 2005).

My writing has increased revenues and readership for dozens of satisfied clients.

My fees are reasonable, too. And for good reason.

  • Low overhead
  • Tons of experience
  • A passion for the written word

You won’t pay for unnecessary layers of management, ┬áprestigious address or a ride on the company yacht or in someone’s new BMW.

You pay only for words.

As good as or better than you’ll get from ad agencies and PR firms that charge much higher fees. And rehash old, ineffective prose pulled from unused copy rejected by their other clients.

Results count more than recogniton, but if it matters to you, my accomplishments in business and the arts have been widely recognized with several awards and grants. These include the Ohio State Award for excellence in Educational, Informational and Public Affairs Broadcasting (a national honor, despite its name), six Addys, a gold award and a merit award in the 1993 and 1994 annual competitions sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the Kirsch Leadership Award, and the Upjohn Healthcare Services Baton. I also have received an American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters grant, a P.E.N. grant, and several Michigan Council for the Arts writing, editing and video awards.

In more than 20 years in the business, I’ve done work for Infocus, The Upjohn Company, United Way, Herman Miller Inc., The Kirsch Company, Mount Carmel Health, Voluntary Hospitals of America, VA Linux Systems, Third Voice, Web2Web Marketing, Personal MD, IdeaFisher, Live 365, HealthCentral.com, Internet Research Group, LetsTalk.com, Spark Public Relations, Copithorne & Bellows Public Relations, ThoughtOffice Corporation, RichContent and many other leading institutions and companies, as well as some of the outstanding advertising agencies and public relations firms in the country.

One thing all of my clients have in common is that they expect results, not just words.
I give them the results they expect
.

  • Targeted messages.
